How do I wire up a 24v transformer in a furnace for thermostat? What does 24v & 24vA connect to? I have a problem of fusses blowing when I turn on the furnace.

    How does heating transformer work?

Basically one side of the 24 volts goes to the limit switches and on to the gas valve. The other side of the 24 volts goes to the thermostat and back out of the thermostat to the gas valve.

This is a very simplistic example and not to actually used on your furnace. Just a example.

Sounds like you are lost and have the wiring shorted out blowing fuses.

I recommend you call a HVAC person to correct your problems. You obviously have no idea whet you are doing and you can damage the furnace or cause a explosion hurting your family and yourself.

Insirt a fuse in front of the transformer at both sides(just to see if the fault is after the transformer or on the primary side)if that isn't the fault your transformer may be to small!
