Legal name change and pending personal injury suit
I just received the paper work to do a legal name change for myself. I am an adult woman with no minor children. I am going to file it myself. It asks about your legal and creditor status. It says "is not involved in any legal actions".

I am wondering what exactly does that mean? I am currently in a pending personal injury recovery suit. Is that considered "LEGAL ACTIONS"? Or does legal actions mean divorce or criminal legal actions?

I would appreciate your help with this question. Thank you in advance for your help!

Legal action means things like creditors after you and stuff like that so they know that you aren't changing your name to get out of paying debts or evading an arrest. Let everybody know of your name change and you should be okay as long as you aren't trying to evade anything.

Legal actions means any pending suits, criminal actions etc. Anything that would involve a court or judge.
