    Kitchen double sink backfilling
Just recently the kitchen sink has been filling up through the drain on both sides of the double sink whenever water is ran (starts immediately after water is ran). It is really bad whenever the dishwasher or garbage disposal is used. The water rising up into the sink is also filled with little particals from the garbage disposal, and the drainage is becoming slower and slower. I already took apart the pipes from the disposal to the lead to the main line, cleaned them out and then snaked down to the main line. There was no blockage and the problem is still existing. Disposal seems to be grinding fine. What is the problem? Do I need to replace the disposal, or is there something that just needs cleaning on it? Please help! :

    Hi Jacquie,

". I already took apart the pipes from the disposal to the lead to the main line, cleaned them out and then snaked down to the main line."

If you cleared out the drain line we wouldn't be having this conversation. Did you remove the "J" bend from the trap and send the snake up into the wall and down the lateral, (horizontal) drain inside the wall for 8 feet? If so the blockage id farther downstream and can only be reached from the kitchen roof vent. Good luck, Tom
