If this transfer does take place, if whatever reason, like an employee gives a ticket which should normally have been cancelled and in put in for refund to another passenger, while it would be against the law, would it somehow cause loss to the compnay. If yes, how.

It's according to company policy - not law. The company would be able to sell the seat or the cabin again and get their money back. Besides, it shouldn't be illegal to transfer a ticket. It's yours. You bought it. You ought to be able to do with it what you please. So, SCREW the airlines!!
