Felons are not considered a minority. You are a minority if you are a female, etc. Try that approach instead.
I believe there was some kind of program in AZ or NM about this but it's been over a year ago and haven't heard anything since about it.
How do I get a grant for school for the remainder of the cost that FASFA doesn't cover
College grants are based on financial need, not minority class. There may be some scholarships available that fit your situation. The Financial Aide office at your local community college can help you with grants, loans and available scholarships.
Yes. Go to www.fafsa.gov. This is the US Federal Financial aid web site. Follow the directions and fill out the online forms. The only way you should be denied is if you have a felony drug conviction WHILE receiving federal financial aid. Call the help number for clarification if you are not sure. I was convicted of a 3rd degree felony in DEC 05 and am currently attending college with financial aid assistance.
How do I apply for a grant?
How do I apply for a grant?
My mother is a felon and has been in and out of prison my whole life and I never met my biological father. There has to be a place that will help me out with a grant for college but where do I apply?
At the end of the FAFSA is charges you an $80.00 fee which I don't have and won't have any time soon. Considering this is why I want to go to college. Is there any way around that fee so my FAFSA can be filed?
