If the father is not on the birth certificate, can he still abandon a child?

If his name isn't on the birth certificate then *technically* he would not be abandoning the child.
Fathers abandon kids it doesn't make it right or good.

Well if he knows he is the father and he does not do what he is suppose to do, then he is morally abandoning the child.

But to do it legally, he will first have to be proven the father though the court either by accepting paternity, or by a court ordered DNA test.
