Personally, I wouldn't have called the law. Perhaps complained to the management or the mall management. I believe speaking with my dollar is louder than the law in this particular instance.
Once I discovered internet shopping, I stopped going to the mall. I hate the place. However, I was wondering if you guys had an opinion.
It appears that the law was not "called" but merely on routine patrol of the mall from what I to out of the article.
They were warned, and decided not to take the warning seroius. The only issue I have is they are holding the manager liable not the corporaton.
I believe they could have cited the corporatoin and fined them instead of the manager.
Nothing new for A&F, they've been pushing the envelope for years. Personally I'm fed up with retailers pushing the envelope to sell their overpriced, overrated crap to kids. Yeah, the pic I saw was no major deal but they couldn't show off their buff boys without showing a little extra flesh?
That ad is in place in our local store.
My opinion? Most know what they are getting with A&F... and the point that they have been doing this for years is not new.
What about victoria's secret? 8 foot tall ads with women's bosoms and bottoms are always displayed.
This has been the "norm" for some time. You just aren't used to seeing a guy's tush in the ad instead of a woman's cleavage.
In the end, you "vote" with your dollars and even your voice, if it offends you enough.
This probably helped A&F have a great start to their February sales with the publicity.
The high school girls I see are more risqué that this. I believe the people who live in communities should be allowed to draw the line where they like…but come on, there has to be consistency…so it seems to me that the females wearing low-riders and a thong and males with their pants below their butts should get arrested too.
My first thought over this was:

And just a few minutes ago, there was a Playtex Bra commercial on TV showing women in their bras...
Is there really that big of a difference... not in my opionion...
This is an annual event and I hear about it every year; only, I live in a small quiet town with no A & F. Are the pictures online?

Haha. I saw that ad the other day in my mall too and I started laughing because I'd just seen the mad TV skits the night before on YouTube. I agree with you, our dollars speak louder. I say if you have problem with it, complain to the company, don't waste the police's time. Its probably not up to the store manager to decide what goes up since the ad is for the entire company, not a specific store.

What I don't get is if you are selling clothes - shouldn't your model be wearing the junk your selling? Oh, that's right - their selling their lifestyle. Puh-lease.
I will never spend a dollar in an A & F store. It bothers me that a shop feels the need to tittlate kids to get them to buy their stuff. If there was an old man down the street showing questionable material to kids to get them in his house, we'd have his head on the proverbial pike. Since A&F only wants their money and not their virtue, most people think it's okay.
BTW, the police gave the posters back last night. I believe the news said that their either wasn't enough to charge or the charges were dropped.
