    Movie I can't remember
I have a vague memory of a movie where a teenage girl is killed the night of I think the prom, and she winds up in heaven. There she is supposed to help the nerdy guy who liked her in high school find romance as an adult. I remember the girl being blond, and something about a car. Does anyone know what movie this could be? Probably 80's to early 90's?

I really think these questions are quite annoying now. Sometimes it's a song, sometimes a fairy tale, sometimes a book and the descriptions are... yes, sometimes... very vague and from many years ago.

How the heck do you think we can tell you this... oops,. meltdown... need help... going faaaaaaaaaaaaaast...

Some people, like me and various others around the site, have extensive knowledge of these things and can name the movie, song, book, etc. from the vaguest of descriptions. This is why people come to this site. To ask about things they have vague memories of. What would you rather them ask? "I saw this movie yesterday. What do you guys think of it?" Umm I'm sorry, but I find those sort of questions extremely boring and pointless on this board, and frankly, a waste of space. We on the movie board take pride in the fact that we can help people find a movie they know virtually nothing about based solely on our excellent memories of things possibly from our own pasts. Don't try to take that away from us, or sabotage it with your hateful comments, just find another board that doesn't bother you.

stardust, if you took the time to post your dislike of my reply, why didn't you help the OP with your extensive knowledge in this area.

I do take umbrage with your comments about my reply being hateful, which it wasn't, I guess we see different values. It was my opinion, which I am entitled to. And yes, I will take your advice, in fact I usually stay away from these questions, and will do so in future. And I do repeat, as in my disgreement, I don't usually see an answers to these questions, and I do check 'unanswered questions' on a regular basis.

Your disagreement was unnecessary. I didn't disagree with your comment, because as I (and I know you) have been informed it is against the sites guidelines. But if you would look at my reputation you'll see I have answered MANY questions like this. Just because I don't know the answer to this one doesn't mean I can't respond to your insensitive comment. (Also I was responding to YOU not the OP so my comment was not incorrect and should not have been marked as so, the feature no longer says "agree" or "disagree" and should not be used in that manner)

Every time I encounter you on this board you have something rude and negative to say. It's members like you that make me not want to come back to this site, and I'm sure you make new members feel the same way, which is why I replied to your comment in the first place, and have replied to them in the past. If you don't answer, and don't like to answer these kinds of questions then stop scaring away the posters for us that DO like to answer them.

Ok, First, you people need to pay attention to the guidelines for using the comments feature found here:

    https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/feedba...ure-24951.html

Kp2171, sd1025 and tickle, all used it inappropriately.

Second, however, I agree with the comments made about tickle's post. Had it been reported I would have removed it. If one doesn't like the type of question then don't post in the thread.

Finally, the movie the OP asked about sounds more like the Heavenly Kid. But that movie had a guy dying and helping the nerdy son of his girlfriend.

The only other things I can remember is a scene in a video store where she's watching the man she's supposed to help, and he's being all shy and awkward around the woman she's supposed to help him fall in love with. I think the woman was one of her friends in high school. There was also a scene where she's sitting in a red(?) car while in the clouds and receiving her 'assignment'.

I hope that's a little less 'vague' for for some people, I wouldn't want my curiosity to annoy anyone.

Thank you to those who offered suggestions, but I don't think either of those are the movie I'm thinking of.

I think it's Meatballs 3 or 4, with Patrick Dempsey...

I remember seeing it on USA Up All Night when I was a wee lad. I can't remember if it's 3 or 4, but I do know that it's Patrick Dempsey in the lead role. I think Sally Kellerman from Back to School is the ghost and Gene Simmons' wife is in the movie, too. The only thing that doesn't seem to jive is that Sally is much older than him, definitely not a high school-aged ghost...
