In the early start of christianity, when jesus and the disciples were around, there was only one type of christianity. The term "christian" wasn't even used till the apostle paul visited Antioch. There the people called them christians. There are really two types of christianity and from there they split up. The two types are those who believe the Bible is truth, and those the Bible has some truth in it and some lies. Those who believe the Bible is 100% truth have different styles and traditions, but at the core they have same doctrine. Which is there is one god, the trinity, and jesus was the son of God. Any questions let me know

Despite the multitudes of denominations, there is ONLY one Christianity. That title properly belongs only to those who follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. (whatever name they use) Anything else is counterfiet. You will find the genuine mixed with the counterfiet together in any given congregation.

There are many many types of religions who claim to be christian but really there is only one faith Jesus spoke of and in Matt 7:13 he encourages his followers to "Go in through the narrow gate, because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it."

He then goes on to explain how we can all recognise false prophets in vs 16-20, by their fruits. Are they producing good fruit or bad through their teachings?

As to the message that this One faith spreads - Matt 24:14 "And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come."

I have read and thought about this, my quess this is a homework question, since you are asking for the two types of christianity, and then something about what "each" or both teaches.

I would challenge your text book and study is wrong, there is only one christianity, but many denominations within it.

Sorry Fr_Chuck. Were you referring to my text book or just answering in general?

There are three main branches of Christianity. They are Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant.

Actually, there are others who were never part of the Protestant movement.

Yes, if your text book is saying there are two types, then it is written from some denominations view point and not a fully accepted view point.

I say this, since from the way the question is asked as if you expected the answer to be two specific forms.
If that is it, basically it would be Catholic and Protestant, but that is not really true since they are both Christian and have divisions within them,

Many protestants are very closely related to the Catholics, and then it leaves the Orthodox completely out, unless you throw them in with the Catholic church

There are more groups who claim to be Christians, but who´s beliefs differ from the earlier stated qualifications.
For instance Mormons are a separate group within Christianity. There are many more of such groups.

There are many denominations in the religion ,Christianity.I am only giving information on
One right now .It is called the seventh day Adventist church. It started in the millerite movement which used bible symbols to indicate that God was coming in the year 1844 but he never came this was callad the great dissapointment. But there were a few that went back to study and discovered that the calculations were accurate but the event that it was referring to was wrong they came up with another belief that it was at this moment that the lord would go into the heavenly sanctuary which commenced the judgement of mankind. They continued and started the world reknowed health message and the seventh day belief belief. This Church is well organized and has a great world message.
