Why won't my Totaline thermostat work?
Moved into a new house with Totaline thermostat/heat pump system. No literature that I can find. Have temp set for 75 on 2 thermostats in the house but won't heat above 70. What am I doing wrong or do I have a major problem with my system or could it just be the thermostat? This is a brand new multi-zone house... blower seems to work but air is blowing out cool. Have 2 zones totally turned off... hasn't made any difference. Any body got any bright ideas?

((Moved into a new house ))

Stop what you are doing for your own good. That new house has a warranty and if you mess with your system it will probably void the warranty. I have seen that happen before and this way the builder/HVAC company get off the hook since you voided the warranty.

Now use your head. Contact the builder/HVAC contactor and have them do the repair for free.
Next most building codes require all papers for the equipment be left at site for the owned. They can get you the papers or you call the building department.

Since of your own admission you know nothing about your system why mess with it to start with. A heat pump system does not work like a Gas/oil system and the temperatures will be a bit different. You have a complex sytstem with zones so adjustments will take expensive air flow/ pressure equipment and a balance tool to get the zones/dampers equal.

They probably need to do a final check of the equipment and make any corrections necessary for proper operation.

This is the best advice I can give you.
