Time for Ron Paul to go home
This weekend there was a report from a local Republican party straw poll in NJ. According to the report the speakers for McCain and Romney were shouted down by the Ronulans. NJ.com: Everything Jersey
To their credit they did show up , attend ,and even pulled an upset in the 100 something vote .However it should be very clear by now ,and definitely by tomorrow night that the Paul campaign is going nowhere. He has an enthusiastic and committed core group that has not ,and will not get much beyond the 5-6% of the Republican primary voters . Real Clear Politcs averages has shown no significant movement by Paul since early October .

The delegate count is even more revealing . Going into tomorrow McCain has 93, Romney has 77 ,Huckabee 40 and Paul has 4 delegates. These numbers will not change no matter how much money he raises and how enthusiastic his core support is.
For those who think he should make an independent run... forget about it . His numbers will be only more diluted in the general election. He can only play a spoiler in a close election .He should return to Congress where his influence is most useful.
