    My sony pcg993l laptop has no sound driver the one that was on it came up code 10 need new sound driver

    See if this helps

    Start, settings, control panel, system, hardware tab, device manager
    Click the plus sign next to your audio driver (probably has a yellow mark next to it)
    Right click on that and click on properties, go to the driver tab and click update driver
    And check the yes button then OK

    Tried to find drivers on sonys site:
    Could not find pcg993l on sonys page, what comes up is after putting in that #, it asks, what model - pcgfx340, pcgfx340k or pcgfx340p, which one do you have

    Try above and if that does not work with updateing driver, just need actual model # to find original drivers

    Now on this page you can click option 1nd it will autodetect your system and then you could searach for an audio driver
