Electric Dipole moment and Torque
Point charges q_1=- 4.10 nC and q_2=+ 4.10 nC are separated by distance 3.50 mm, forming an electric dipole.
a)Find the magnitude of the electric dipole moment.
Express your answer in coulomb meters to three significant figures.
I don't know what I am doing wrong. I've converted everything to the correct digits and I'm suppose to multiply but every answer I put it this is the response I get and I don't know where to go from there.
-Since a pair of equal but opposite charges exists, there must be some (nonzero) electric dipole moment created from that pair.
b) The charges are in a uniform electric field whose direction makes an angle 36.6 degrees with the line connecting the charges. What is the magnitude of this field if the torque exerted on the dipole has magnitude 8.00×10−9 N m?
Express your answer in newtons per coulomb to three significant figures.
Can anyone help me??
