Hi is it possible to fit copper compression fittings to plastic pipe. If so how please
If you are talking about 3/8" compression or 1/2" compression, or even 5/8" compression..then yes it is possible. The only requirement needed is that the plastic pipe gets a brass sleeve inserted into it.
For example, you would slide a compression nut over the platic pipe, then slide the compression sleeve (called a ferrule) on...push up high for now, then insert the brass sleeve inside plastic pipe...pull down ferrule and nut and inset into say compression tee.
Just be sure to buy compression insert sleeves...usually comes in package if you are buying say...a 3/8" compression coupling at the home supply store... or are available for purchase separately.

It's best, although not essential to use plastic ferrule. But, as MP said you need the sleeve.

As for the application, if we're talking about installing a shut off under a sink or toilet, then that's fine -- However, if you're talking about repairing a broken pipe inside of a wall, crawlspace or below ground, then you do not want to use a compression fitting to make the repair -- Concealing a compression fitting is just asking for trouble.
