    Unwanted Divorce
My husband and I are both active duty military. We are stationed 800 miles apart, and he can't take the distance. He refuses to get help to try and deal with our situation. He wants a divorce and I don't want to give him one because I recently found out that I was pregnant.

    So my questions are:

    1. Can he still achieve his divorce without my signature?

    2. If he doesn't claim the child, can I order a paternity test through the court?

JRynders asks: "1. Can he still achieve his divorce without my signature?" Yes, if he alleges the correct ground, i.e. "irretrievably broken", or whatever it is called in your state of residence. The plaintiff doesn't need the spouse's signature unless the parties are agreeing to something. Keep in mind that a divorce involves at least these issues: the marital relationship; alimony; child support, custody and visitation; payment of debts; and division of property.
And: "2. If he doesn't claim the child, can I order a paternity test through the court?" Yes

    Yes he can
    2. If he doesn't claim the child, can I order a paternity test through the court?
Yes you can, and you should tell him of your pregnancy, as soon as possible.

I think that in my state if the woman is pregnant the divorce is placed on hold.

Probably for a legal determination of paternity; good idea. What state?
