I am looking for the person that assumed our mortgage. I am unable to locate him through normal means. Is there away to look up records? Where do I start?

I think you need to explain this further. Someone doesn't just assume a mortgage. And I can't conceive it would happen without your knowledge.

Contact the last person or company that held your mortgage. Lots of times a mortgage is bought by a larger company. The original mortgage holder will have the information for you. If a phone call doesn't do it, then write a letter. Just how are you paying your mortgage if no one has contacted you about where to send the payment?

You are assuming the OP is referring to a lender servicing the loan. But as you point out anyone taking over servcing the loan would want to get paid so would not keep it a mystery. Also he specified a "person" not a company. So your assumption as to the his meaning doesn't make sense.

Sometimes its best to wait until the OP clarifies their question rather than jump in with an answer that won't apply to them. Part of the skills in helping on a site like this is being able to understand the questions.
