I am looking for the person that assumed our mortgage. I am unable to locate him through normal means. Is there away to look up records? Where do I start?

Hello kik:
You start at your county tax assesor.

I think you need to explain this further. Someone doesn't just assume a mortgage. And I can't conceive it would happen without your knowledge.
Contact the last person or company that held your mortgage. Lots of times a mortgage is bought by a larger company. The original mortgage holder will have the information for you. If a phone call doesn't do it, then write a letter. Just how are you paying your mortgage if no one has contacted you about where to send the payment?
You are assuming the OP is referring to a lender servicing the loan. But as you point out anyone taking over servcing the loan would want to get paid so would not keep it a mystery. Also he specified a "person" not a company. So your assumption as to the his meaning doesn't make sense.Quote:
