    Unable to connect to internet with new broad band connection and router
    Hi
    I have just signed up to the latest AOL deal that gives a free Dell laptop and Netgear router. I am really struggling I tried to use the disk to set up the connection and it failed. Following instructions and changing passwords and screen name AOL said it must be the line. Following a line check the got BT to sort it. BT said they had fixed the line but still no connection from router to internet. The engineer came today and ocnfirmed the broad band is fine but the router still wouldn't work. He said it was the router.

    I have tested the laptop on my daughters broad band and it gets a connection easily. I have tried connecting the router to her braodband cannection and although I can see the router and access 192.168.0.1 I cannot get it to cnnect to the internet at her house either.

    Any suggestions?

    Reset the Router for 30 sec... disconnect the power from router for 30 sec..

    Connect the Computer with router { No Internet cable With the Router this Time }

    Acess the Page with 192.168.0.1 with default username and password...

    Go to wireless tab.. do the wireless Settingss As SSID/network Name./ Channel

    And under Setup Tab
    Change the Local IP address for the Router as 192.168.5.1

    Power Cycle { Disconnect The Power } for 30 Sec...

    Connect the Internet Cable to the Router...

    Hopefully going to Work...
