Hi there, I've had my period this month but it has only been brown discharge with a very small amount of bleeding, this is unusual for me and not happened before. I am currently on the pill and I am not suffering from any pain or cramps. I am currently in the middle of starting my own business so have been very stressed!

Stress can thrown your periods off, at least for me. It is possible that you just had a light one. Can I ask a couple questions? How old are you? How long have you been on the pill? Do you usually have very regular periods? Do you get your annual pap smear/women's health exams? I wouldn't worry too much. See if it goes back to normal next month when you are under less stress. If it continues to be different than normal, I would go to the ob-gyn just to be on the safe side and for peace of mind.

I'm 23, I was previously on the pill for 3 years had a 2 year break and have been on it again for year and half. My periods are regular but vary in length from 2 days to 5 days. My smears have come back negative, stds are negative too. I'm just a bit worried as it has never been like this before, just brown discharge instead of blood, I normally have it at the end of my period though which is normal. But as I said I have been very stressed recently.

I'm 23 too. I can't say for sure in your case and all, but I can tell you that I had the same thing happen last year, and I was worried. I went to the doctor and all my stuff came back negative too, and they told me that sometimes it just happens. The doctor said that stress can affect it. At the time, a friend had passed away and it was a hard time, and I think that must have contributed. So, I wouldn't worry too much. Just see if they go back to normal once you aren't so stressed. What kind of business are you starting? I hope you have good luck with it!

I'm in the middle of starting a mobile dog wash with my boyfriend and am in the middle of business meetings and stuff. So hopefully everything will go well. Thank you again for taking the time to answer my question, was starting to get a little worried that no one would. :)
