I am working on a bathroom remodel and was wondering if anyone had an experience with using Kohler's watertiles. (KOHLER: Custom Showering: Body Sprays: Showers: Bathroom)

I was wonder what kind of pressure performance you get out of these. Not looking for something to wash with, just relax. I will had a regular show head for washing. Also, has anyone see any issues with installing 4 or even 6 or 7 on the same water supply line. Finally, what about installing the ceiling tiles on a ceiling that is not tiled.

I have not installed any Tiles yet but have done many multi port showers. The Kohler requires a minimum of 10 gpm at 45 psi so check your pressure before you buy. The more tiles you use the more gpm are getting used so volume and pressure are key. When I do a multi port shower I run separate lines from the main run for each shower rather than hooking them in series. Do not worry about your ceiling not being tiles yet, you will need to rip most of it out to install the Kohler tiles and piping.

Thanks for the info. I had my the main shutoff valve replaced shortly after I moved into the house. I asked to plumber to check the pressure and he said I was getting 60psi. He checked it in the basement, does that sound correct? Also, I am putting in 3 tiles and the hot/cold water supply does not feed anything else in the home except the master bath.

45-50 psi is the norm and Kohler requires 10 gpm at 45 psi so you should be more tyhan good. Just do not hook them up in a series. Run hot/cold to each tile direct from the main trunk line not each other.

Maybe this is a stupid question. I can check my flow rate by seeing how much water I fill up in 1 minute, correct? I can take a simple 5 gallon bucket and if I fill it up twice that I know I am getting 10 gpm. Looking at some of the flow meters, they seem a little pricey for something I would probably use just once.

Not stupid but there is even a quicker way, you can just see if the 5 gallon bucket fills once in 30 seconds. 10 gpm @ 45 psi is only enough to run one tile if I understand kohlers installation instructions. If you install multiple tiles they should each get their own supply from the trunk lines, do not install them in series.

Sure 30 sec for a 5 gallon bucket. The instructions I have for the tiles show putting all the tiles on the same supply line and creating a pressure balance. If I can explain correctly you would create a loop with a T connector going to each tile. So you would come in from the supply line, use a T to start the loop, 4 T's for each tile (let's say I have 4 tiles) and 4 elbows to make the loop. Does that make sense?
