Grandparents rights When the parent is unfit
My son died when my grandson was not quite 2, he was not living with the mother of his child at the time and spent his visitation with us. We have always been able to spend time with him at least 2 days a week. This situration is because she never wanted to take care of him and lived with her mom and dad who did.
Recently she moved in with a new boyfriend and moved several hours away. She left my grandson with her mom at first but then late one night came and took him to where she is living. She did not intoduce us to this boyfriend or call us to let us know she was moving or even tell us where she was for a week. Since then the nightmare has continued. We know where she is but she doesn't want us to come there. She has no phone and no car and her boyfriend works 7 days a week (supposedly).
What frightens me most is she is on meds for mood disorder and has overdosed in the past. There was a definite reason she llived with her mom. What can I do? I just want her to stay in touch so I know my granson is okay.
