Stand alone shower need to know the order in which to finish
I am converting my half in the basement to a full bath. I extended the current platform floor out to fit a stand alone shower and three walls to enclose it. I ran a drain and trap to a few feet into a y connector into the waste pipe. I was just wondering what is the proper way to proceed? I was thinking attach the two side walls and the shower leaving the back open attaching the drain to the shower and then pouring the cement under the shower on to the plywood. Finishing up with the finally back wall being attached. Any suggestions of questions?

Hmmm... Here is how I do it. I set a piece of plastic down under the shower base.. then I usually set the shower base in a bed of structolite gypsum or modified thinset mortar (on top of plastic so will not destroy plywood over time)... level that front to back and side to side... then I attach the walls after that.

OR I build the unit (3 walls onto base) and set the whole unit built into the bed of structolite gypsum (plastic under structolite).. and squish out and level the shower from there.

Hope this answered your questions. If it did... please RATE the answer below. Thank you.
