Is refurbished Wedding ring too tacky?
Me and my g/f have been talking marriage for a few years now.
The only thing holding us back is me asking.
I haven't done that because I will not be abe to
Afford the proper size ring while paying
    Huge sums of child support.

However recently I came across a very nice USED wedding ring set .
I am having it refurbished to like new again at the jewelers.
I am still contemplating on giving it to her though,
She's going to ask where I got the money
And ill have to tell her I got a deal on it.

Is this too tacky of a thing to do?

I think that as long as she understands your financial situation it would be OK. I mean, it's not like it's your ex wife's ring or something like that. As long as it looks nice and she understands. If you're having to pay lots of child support and don't have lots of money to spend, it is probably a wise idea not to spend lots of money on a ring. And this way, if you have more money in the future, you could always buy her a brand new ring and ask her to renew vows, like for an anniversary or something.

My wedding ring was given to my husbands by his boss who collected jewelry and I didn't think that was tacky, I thought it was great,

Hey man... no one knows but you and her. Besides, it truly is the thought that counts. I would go the route of buying the ring she wants and deserves, but with a center CZ instead of a diamond and then you can make it a goal to replace it with a real stone a sometime when you guys can afford it, or a surprise anniversary gift. Honestly, most jewelers can't even tell the difference with the naked eye. It will be beautiful and if she is the girl for you she will be happy you asked... period!

Ask her already! She'll love it because it came from you. :)

Good job snagging a deal! That was a great idea!

My wedding ring cost $30. My engagement ring cost $23. The stone in my ring was taken from my husband's great-grandmother's ring, which had been worn through in several spots.

It's the thought that counts, honey.

Just make sure the proposal is good, and worry less about the ring!
