Ceiling fan swap out - wiring red with no blue
    Old fan had

Blue - connected to Red in the ceiling
Black - to Black in the ceiling
    White - White and
    Green - Bare.

Two switch wall plate first one light, second one fan.

    New Fan (Hunter w/Remote)

Has only Black, White and Green...

When I Cap the Red, light works on the old fan switch, fan doesn't work.
When I Cap the Black from the ceiling and Use Red to the fans Black, the light works in the first switch and the remote works, fan still does not work...

    Suggestions??

You will cap one wire(red) forget about using the switch. The remote needs constant power to work. With power black to fan black they should both work with remote.

Correct way to wire it is black to black, white to white, cap off the red. If something still doesn't work, something else is wrong.

You can also try red to black, white to white, cap off (ceiling) black. Result should be exactly the same except for which wall switch controls the fan/light.

    CFR,

That works, now the wife doesn't want a 'dead' switch on the wall plate... :(

Going to hang one w/o a remote...

    Thanks

If your wife doesn't want dead switch --- remove it -- cap ends

Buy switch plate with one switch and blank to cover it

You can do either option. Remote fans are more likely to have problems, so if you don't need the remote feature, better to use a fan without it.
