    Judgement from a collection agency
My husband received a judgement from a collection agency in 2004, he did not know the steps to follow in order to see what it was for. I researched the judgment and the majority are medical bills. 2 of the medical bills were paid to the original creditor and one other item was taken from his taxes. This collection agency is collecting for the one taken from my husbands taxes and is also reporting it as a separate item on the credit report. Is there anyway to fight these, especially those that were paid?

It is really too late for you to fight this now.

They sued him, and got a judgment. His time to appeal is over, case closed.

I would doubt you will have any luck in resolving this without paying the judgment.

If you do pay, pay ONLY to the court house where the judgment is. This way, the court house will keep record of your payments and the balance, that will back up your payments.

You could, I guess, try to sue the collection agency, or the company that transferred the debt, but still accepted the payments without reporting them to the agency.
It would be a tough case to gather the evidence to win.

Have you looked at any internet sites? On the other hand, John Edwards may be available to assist you.
