My husband and I are trying to get grants and/or loans so that we can buy some land and start our ranch. We have spoken with the USDA, but they led us to a dead end so far. Does anyone know where we can find grants and/or loans to buy land?

One way that may be of interest to you is to look into free government land. I was looking into that years back and if I'm not mistaken the site was Public Land Title

Evidently, they'll sell you (40?) acre parcels for next to nothing as long as you develop it.
