    Is 220v terminology actually meaning 208v at my meter?

    Single phase US residential is 240/120. 240 is 120 * 2.

    For a "Y" connected 3 phase system. There are usual voltages of about 125, 208 and 277. 208 and 277 single phase and 208 three phase is available and some higher voltages.
