    Gas valve replacement
I also have been having issues with my gas furnace. Apparently the needle valve inside is not working properly says the furnace repair man. He told me the valve needed to be replaced. Is this a part that can be easily removed and replaced by myself. I am a engineer if u care.

What do I need be aware of when doing this and would there be any other adjustment to the unit once it has been replaced.

Thank you are your feed back

Valves usually screw off and screw on so that is not the problem. The wiring should be the same if the same valve is available.
    Here comes the problem.
You may have to adjust the pilot flame.
But you WILL have to adjust the pressure going through the gas valve to the burner. This item takes a special pressure gauge (inch collum type) and adjust the pressure to what the rating plate lists it at.

These gauges are not real cheap.

Good luck with your project and do not forget to use pipe dope on all the threads on the gas line and gas valve. Check for leaks with a high viscosity soap and look for bubbles as a sign of a leak.
