Why is it affecting me so hard?

    HI,
I am wondering if anyone could help me figure something out. I am wondering how the sudden death of someone you don't know personally can leave devastating feelings of loss and grief.
    Any words will be appreciated.
    Blessed be

    Hello D
Without knowing anything about the person or the circumstances of their death, it is a little difficult to answer your question. Although from what you have shared, I get the impression that you may be struggling to make sense of a death that in many respects feels senseless...

You describe the person's death as having been sudden which suggests that it was unexpected. The unexpected loss of someone typically results in feelings of shock and leaves us asking a lot of "Why?" questions. These feelings are a normal part of the grieving process, but can leave us feeling temporarily 'derailed'.

Even though the person was not known to you personally, I'm assuming you knew something of their life and loved ones, right? Regardless of what you knew of this person or how you obtained this knowledge (e.g. whether it was through a third party or the media), you have been shocked by their death and are feeling a sense of loss. You are likely to be mourning not only the loss of life for the person him/herself, but also experiencing a deep sense of sympathy and sadness for the loved ones left behind (reflected in your own outpouring of grief).

The death of another often makes us consider our own life , relationships and mortality. It can make us think of the people closest to us and just how important their lives are to us, or remind us of past loss and grief we have endured. The death of another can scare us into thinking that we wouldn't be able to 'cope' if we were to lose someone really close to us. Perhaps some of this is what is going on for you now D?

Finally, as painful as your feelings are right now, they will ease and they are also understandable. They also tell me that you appreciate the preciousness of life, and are a sensitive and empathic person who feels (and loves) deeply - all of which are wonderful qualities which I encourage you to nurture. I genuinely hope you feel better soon D.

    Kind regards
    Dale

Again, not knowing exactly who or how. I can remember President Kennedy dying, it effect an entire nation, most who did not know ihm at all. To others, when a person who was important in your life, ( behads a role model you did not really know ) can be hard on you.
And sometimes we just need to grieve and find a outlet that is proper to do it with.

It may be that the "sudden death of someone you do not know personally" has led to "fear of death or Thantophobia". "If one fears death excessively, it can prevent them from being able to enjoy life. Often associated with hypochondria, morbid death fear can cause unnecessary worry and anxiety and can prevent the sufferer from being able to live life to the full." Hi,
I too have often had such feelings for perfect strangers. These feelings that we have is by virtue of the fact that we are all bonded together in humanity, created with God's fabric of life. Spiritually speaking, we are part of the whole that God created. When someone who belongs to a facet of that whole passes on, since we are "tied" to them by virtue of our humanity, that invisible bond, for some people, will create the emotional energy that you are describing. As unusual as that may sound, isn't it beautiful though, to be able to FEEL, to have such strong feelings for someone we may not have even met! It takes a special person with a good heart to have such feelings. Some, unfortunately, are almost devoid of any feelings and couldn't feel anything if a car ran over someone standing at a bus stop near them. It all starts with a warm, loving heart. And one can feel truly blessed to be one of the few who can feel for others when they have been hit by devastating circumstances in their life.

When one reaches out spiritually, the energy that is set in motion will arrive almost instantaneously and will touch another in a very special, tender way! And spirit is certainly not immune to this at all. In fact, those who have passed on too can feel when someone feels or cares for them when they may have not even known them in physical life. The reason? LOVE. Love is the greatest vibration ever known to mankind. It can literally heal, transform, bless, move one to help and recognize another who is in need. And Love Is Eternal! Blessed indeed are those who can truly Love, feel and reach out to their fellow man!

    Hello,
It's my belief that we are all connected. As long as we have open hearts we feel more.
