I was on the "Pandora" website, a free music radio program. You enter the name of an artist you like and they play songs similar. You rate the songs so that they can customize the program to your tastes. It was working fine until I tried to rate a song. The second I did that the volume went off and I haven't gotten it to come back on ever since.

I have checked my volume knob on the machine, and also the mute button... so that's not the problem!!

Please take a moment and open the Control Panel, then "Sounds ........." Check the speaker levels and audio card there.

Thanks for your input. I don't know what you mean by "check the audio card" in control panel. Other than that, everything seems to be on.

Start, settings, control panel
Click on system, then the hardware tab and click on device manager
Is there any yellow marks in that view?
