Is it possible for water to seep up through a crack in the foundational slab? I discovered several tiles in my bedroom that the grout appears to be damp. Plus the close door track is starting to rust in several spots along this track. All the water pipes are run through the attic overhead plus there are no pipes of any kind under this room. My water bills are low and normal for this time of year. The problem I did have however is that we have had some heavy rains of late and water has pooled just out side this room may be 6-8 ft from the room. This happens every time it rains. The water pools outside of this room in the front of the house. I live out in the Desert southwest and it does not rain much but when it does it does rain hard. Any Ideas? I will send some pic's in another post with the same title. But for now any comments would be appreciated

You hit the nail on the head with a hammer. Yes, there can be cracks in the foundation. You living in the desert has a lot to do with not having this problem surface until it starts raining. The best thing to do is to try and locate this crack when it is dry outside as you just may have to do some excavating outside near the wall that seems to be leaking. You will have to fill in the crack from the outside in order for it to properly seal everything up.

I lived in an apt once that had a leak in the foundation and the outside closet wall was totally wet as the water would wick up from the crack. I moved as landlord would not fix. Also you need to fix this as soon as you can so you can avoid any mold or mildew problems from happening. I looked at your pics in the other post and it looks like you have the start of a problem that is only going to get worse, not better.
