I have 2 floor drains in my basement. Recently the water level of 1 of them, which is the furthest from the road / city connection has come up over the drain cover. I cleaned this out with a wet vac but the level comes right back to where it was. I have tried using a 20 foot hand snake but can't get more than 2 or 3 inches in the horizontal direction. I can pour water into the good drain without any affect on the bad drain. We recently had some heavy rains and the level has come up higher now onto the floor. Couple of questions, 1) does the bad floor drain connect to the floor drain in front of it before going out the city connection, 2) maybe I need a larger stronger snake to break through clog, 3) would it work easier to snake from the good drain to the bad? 4)where is the water coming from, ground water? Please help, my wife is driving me nuts to get this fixed! :(
