4 mth old kitten urinating in other kitty sleep spot
Thanksgiving weekend my daughter got a 7 week old kitten. On Jan 7th he was neutered and has been acting fine until about a week ago he started urinating on my down comforter in the spot where my kitty sleeps each night, which incidentally, is basically right under my chin.

Apparently, its happening during the day when I'm gone, so I get in bed at night and snuggle under the covers and Wham! The smell hits, though it doesn't seem to have soaked through to the other blankets.

I've washed the comforter in detergent and vinegar, and that kills the smell, but a day or so later he'll do it again.

How do I stop him from doing this? I've never had a cat do this before.

    Thanks,

    Suzz

Is you other cat that sleeps with you fixed? If not, that could be the problem.
The cat that is urinating is marking it's territory. You could try a deterent spray from
Your local pet store, or a product called felaway. It is also available in a pump spray,
And it has a calming effect. The only other thing to do is keep your bedroom door closed during the day while you are at work.

Yes my other cat is fixed also. He is 9 and lives almost exclusively in my room.

If you can't find something to stop the marking, I would fix up your room, so your older kitty can stay there while you are at work. Should not be a problem for you older cat since you stated he lives in there most of the time anyway. Good Luck.

I think we found the real culprit and I owed both Pumkyn Kitty and Burns apologies. After two days of no litter box action from Burns we took him to the vet only to learn that he has crystals and blood in his urine.
I am thinking now that it was him going on the blanket, trying to tell me that something was wrong. He is on meds now and hopefully will be back to himself soon.

He will be fine in a few days with the medication,
And I am glad you discovered the real problem.

A cat will often make a mess in an area you are sure to see when they are
Upset or not feeling well trying to tell you something is wrong.
