Can anyone please tell me what the waiting period is for selling a home prior to filing bankruptcy in the state of texas/ Chapter 13 or Chapter 7? Please any help is appreciated.

Just curious: why are you wanting to sell your home prior to filing bankruptcy?

I'm sorry I should have clarified this better, it was rental property that my parents owned. It is a manufactured home (doublewide) that is only worth about 12K. I bought the land from them last year but the home is still in their name. I apologize I should have been more clear about it. My parents want to file bankruptcy but they don't want to lose this home, as my brother lives in it now. They talked to an attorney here local that said it is a 2 year waiting period and I don't have much faith in this man.

Is the doublewide collateral for a debt? Or is it owned, free and clear?

Paid for In Full, we paid it off for them.
