    How to reduce acne scarring
So, I'm an idiot and I'm always messing with my face, causing problems that usually don't exist. And well, It began to scar!! I've tried a few over the counter products and would like to have some sort of skin surgery done, though I can't really afford it..

So does anyone know of any home remedies or products that actually work at reducing facial scars? They're kind of like little potholes.
I've learned my lesson, but it's a little late!
Any advice or knowledge on this matter is appreciated!!

I have a scar on my face which I wanted rid of, I was advised to use vitamin E cream as it accelerates skin growth. It doesn't completely get rid of the scar, but it makes it less noticeable.

Acne scarring goes really deep, so there isn't anything to recommend on the home front. I have heard that dermabrasion is a good answer.

The only thing that worked for me was lemon juice. I had a day off so I applied the lemon juice to my scars with a cotton bud every ten minutes for a few hours. When I looked in the mirror afterwards, they had faded so much!

How much does Dermabrasion (<sp?) generally cost? Do I need to start dating a plastic surgeon or is it reasonable? I don't know if my husband will like the dating part unless it's really expensive- :D

LOL, annebren, yes start dating a plastic surgeon! There are dermabrasion kits available now in drugstores that would be minimally effective, or not quite as good as treatments by a plastic surgeon. You would have to consistent in your use of them and possibly you could minimize so they are not quite as noticeable. Good luck.

Vitamin E lotion is not quite as good as the vitamin E oil.

I used the vitamin e cream, my scar is quite deep also, and I know it's not the same kind of scar but it has become a lot less noticeable since I started using vitamin e cream daily.

I had really dark scars and I started using shea butter. It works really good for your skin. Its not expensive at all. You can find it in and beauty shop. Its moisturizes and softens your face and body as well as get rid of scars and you can see changes in a week. But use lemon juice and tomato as you face wash then wash it off and apply the shea butter.

The best way is to use a chemical peel on your skin to remove the top layer. I'm not sure how deep the scar is but this will definitely help. Use the DS multifruit exfoliant. It can also dry existing pimples.
