The motor in my washing machine went out and I need to drain the water left in the machine. Is there an easy way to do it?

You can put a garden hose in the tub and siphon it our to the nearest sink or to the outdoors. Or to the drain in the laundry room

The drain hose should be elevated about the level of the tub, sometimes in a stand up pipe.

If the valve is open, you can lay the hose down on the floor, close to the floor drain and much of the water will drain out on its own with the help of gravity.

If that does not work, I agree with putting the garden hose in and siphon.

You can get a small piece of heater hose or hose at the hardware store. Being short helps. I used to drain an aquarium this way all the time. We should caution on mouth siphoning.

You can also siphon, if you inject a little water into the hose and move it quickly downward.
Methods to inject include from a faucet and remove while water is running and quickly put into a bucket. You can prime th hose by raising it up and filling it with water. Once the hose is primed, you can plug it with a stopper in the down position while you remove a bucket and empty it. Removing the stopper will restore flow. Garden hose fittings and a hose clamp can be used with a short of hose from the hardware store.

A wet vac also works.
