Kenmore Elite Catalyst TOP LOAD leaking
I just purchased a "used" washer & dryer and got them home and the washer leaks. Kenmore Elite Catalyst heavy duty, top load, king size capacity, ultra quiet, etc. Under the lid: SM 9710768-D. It fills just fine, washes fine, rinses fine but then after the rinse the water comes out the back rather than out the hose.

My husband just had major surgery and after 18 days in hospital he's home but cannot do anything but rest for 3 months. Can you tell me anything about this machine and how I can fix it? The hose was correctly placed inside the drain but that is as much as I would know to do. I appreciate any help you can provide.

Check and see were the hose is leaking. A hole in the hose? A loose clamp? Is the hose connected tightly at the pump?

No holes in the hose as I hooked my old machine right back up and it is working. It seems to be coming from the appliance?

Yes, it probably is from the newer appliance. Have you looked around the pump area? Check the clamp on the pump hose

Thanks for your help. But if the water is pumping out during one cycle why would it not on the rinse cycle??

It's when it is rinsing and spinning not when it's just draining
