Hope I'm in the right forum. My mom's turning 60 next January (2009). My sister wants to have a party for her (which I was thinking of anyway), and since my mom likes ice cream a heck of a lot, we are planning on an "ice cream" party. I know it's a bit early, but I don't have a heck of a lot of money to buy this stuff, even with my sister helping somewhat, so I want to buy this stuff over the next year as just the food is going to cost enough buying it at the time. I was wondering if anyone had any idea on cheap decorations that can be made by hand, and is pretty easy with good directions, as I don't have good luck with crafty things. I try and usually fail. We will be renting somewhere (like a room at the firehouse or something) because there isn't enough room for everyone in the immediate family in the house, and it's way to cold to have it outside in January. I know someone who would hopefully be willing to make some card board ice cream cones and such to decorate the walls of the hall with. If not, I can do that myself. Other than that, I'm not sure what to do. What could I do for center pieces, too?
Any ideas would be very appreciated. I know it's odd to have an ice cream party in the winter, but I really have no idea what else we would do because an ice cream party is what would suit her best.
Thanks
