Im only 13 and I got my period at the age of 10 1/2. I'm really scared that I will start menopause at the age of 35 or something because my mom is going through menopause at age 43 and only got her period at age 13... does that mean I will start menopause early cause I started my period early:confused:??

Every woman's body is different when they start menopause. You're worrying about something that's way down the road right now.

I agree. Everyone is different. The next time you go to the doctor, talk to him/her about your concerns. Don't worry about it now, hun, you have lots of time until then.

I agree. You shouldn't worry right now. You are fine. No two girls ever start their period at the same time. When you get older, around 20 and you are still worried about early menopause, the docter can guess how close you are to it. My aunt did that.

First no not even the doctor can tell you when you will menopause no two people are the same, many factors, including your weight can factor into it. But you can't change it at this time ( maybe in the future there will be drugs) But so what if you do you do, you just started periods, this is not even a time to worry or think about these things yet.

Menopause happens when a woman runs out of healthy eggs. Sorry Chuck, it has nothing to do with weight.

I really don't know why you are all that concerned. It's no big deal for most women, we just stop our periods. I am currently in the beginning of menopause and I am 43. I'm loving it.

Yes, some women have symptoms but not all.

No not at all everyone body is different and any way you shouldn't worry about these things now that's a very long time away so don't worry and just wait until it happens.It'll happen when it happens and there you can do about it so you should just forget about the menopause till then.
