    Lenox Heating/AC Fan Motor
I would like to inspect the fan motor but don't see where the access is. The unit is 12 years old and, most likely, was design to last the life of the unit. Is there anyway to get into the unit to see if I can replace the motor myself.

The unit is a typical contractor grade Lenox unit. The furnace ibelow the cooling coils. I can't even figure our where the fan motor woul be. Its making a rattling sound right now.

    Thanks,

Usually the motor is located in the blower housing which is located on the bottom of the furnace if it is a down flow configuration.

You will have to turn off power and remove the front and bottom panel to access the blower.

The blower housing is on slide tracks and usually as 2 screws holding it in place.

You will also have to disconnect the wiring.

Make sure you copy down where every wire came from and went to. Good luck.
