A guy I see/date on and off asked me to be his roommate because his ex moved out and he's looking for a new roomie to share the rent until the lease is up; no promise of a relationship though. It's a two bedroom. He says if it works out we can look for a new place together in 5 months. I like him but not sure if this is the best thing. We've never had sex, but have kissed/fooled around a little; even recently. He needs an answer sometime today so he can tell his landlord. Any suggestions?

p.S. Never lived with a male roommate before...

Okay well maybe not an answer by today. But basically, I'm looking for advice about what his possible intentions are. Is he looking for a roommate with benefits situation?; or a trial run for something more serious..
I don't want to read into the situation too much. I can catch feelings for guys I like kindve quickly..

I think you have too many doubts and therefore this would not be a good idea.

If he can afford to stay somewhere else then don't let him if there is a finance issue which it sounds like its not then say no as you feel uncomfortable about it... and I am guessing you wouldn't if it was financial reasons.
