Caught in a deceitful WEB! What can I do?
Not sure if this is the place to ask my question, but thought I'd give it a go.

Is there somewhere on the WWW where one can report 'unwanted/unsolicited' (I hope you get my meaning) material?

I'm quite irritated by being "deceived" when doing a search on the internet.
I think I'm going to a page/topic that I'm interested in, and end up with pictures that I don't want to look at and certainly don't want any children in my home to view.

I still have slow dial-up, so I'm usually preoccupied while my computer is finding it's way to the site I'm going to. If children are in the room, they may see the pic's before I can get rid of the site.

These are not anything coming to me by subscription, but just ordinary (supposedly) sites I've googled, sometimes looking for material for church.

Is there anything I can do about this?
    Do I have a say?
    Where can I complain?
What if anything can I do??

    Hope you can help.
    Thanks

Appropriate spyware programs along with a firewall have pretty much stopped me from getting anything like that.

    I run

Ad-aware Get Ad-Aware 2007 Plus for Free with Lavasoft and TrialPay - Lavasoft

Spybot search and destroy Spybot - Search & Destroy - Reviews and free Spybot - Search & Destroy downloads at Download.com

    SpywareBlaster SpywareBlaster

    CCleaner CCleaner - Home

And Zone Alarm firewall ZoneAlarm by Check Point - Award winning PC Protection, Antivirus, Firewall, Anti-Spyware, Identity Protection, and much more.

I believe all except ad-aware are free. I've heard complaints about zone alarm, but its done a good job for me. We have some good people here who will probably have some good recommendations... don't think I've looked at newer programs for a couple of years.

Not an expert here, but these have kept my PC clean, or at least quaranteed any junk that's come across...

My computer (built by a friend) has so many problems ongoing, that I don't use it.
I'm on Hubby's computer and he does have Zone Alarm.

I'm not sure how to make it work for this dilemma, I'll check with him this evening and see if he can.

    Thanks
