Can anyone give me info on septic tie in from an existing septic tank to town sewer system
You know... some people on here may be able to tell you lots of stuff... but one thing I have learned about title 5 inspection and/or tie in from septic to town sewer system is TALK TO YOUR TOWN PLUMBING INSPECTOR... He will send you a pamphlet of information on the subject... Better yet, start with the BOARD OF HEALTH in your town. They will usually have precedence when it comes to this subject... I know... hard to believe the first 12 times I heard it, too!
Overall, my customers did not like what they heard... expensive (especially if you have basement bathroom... may have to put on a sewage ejector... but that is worst case and is dependent on invert (depth) of your sewer pipe VS. invert (depth) of the town's).
BUT, sometimes they got lucky and all worked out great... reasonable, etc. My point here is...on or off the record...talk to your town inspectors...the answer to this question is TOWN SPECIFIC...I don't care what anyone tells you.

Speedball1... thank you... in my area they also require that all that convert from septic to city collapse the septic as you suggested. I am afraid markcast260... this is most likely "worst case scenario". Let us know how it works out!
