Ask Me Help Desk - Is what she doing right ?

Im 17 years old and my boyfriend of almost a year is 18. My mom hates him and told me that I wasn't aloud to see him anymore. He got kicked out of his house last night and decided to go live with his dad. I told him I would go with him because I don't want to be at home with my mom anymore. I can't live with my dad because he follows everything my mom says and treats me the same way. She threatened to smack me and knock my teeth in my throat. I want to get away but she won't let me. Is what she doing right?

You have to wait until you are 18 or whatever age your state says is adult. If you go live with your boyfriend he could get in trouble for being with a minor (jail bait) and he could get in trouble for harboring a minor. THEN he could be put on Megan's Law as a child predator for the rest of his life. Then if you and him have kids some day and the Child protective services are called even over a small incident not even involving him you could possibly lose your kids IF they want to make an issue out of it.

Yes she is, and you should do as your told until you can fend for yourself.

Until you are of legal age and self supporting I believe your parents can drag you back from wherever you go - and possibly declare you in need of supervision.

So what are the details of his getting kicked out of his house? Sounds like he might have problems which might explain your parents' decision that you can't see him any more.

And his Dad is OK with both of you living with him?

His mom kicked him out because his whole family was going to get kicked out because their landlord said they weren't aloud to have pets and they had a dog & a baby kitten. His mom talked to the landlord and he said that if she kicked out her son they could stay otherwise they have 5 days to get out. She kicked him out and he nowhere to stay. His dad has no problem with us living together. My doesn't like him because she doesn't think he's good enough for me but the truth is he's the only boyfriend I've had that has stood up for me and never left my side. Hes always there for me when I'm sick or when I have to go to the doctors. He comes to all my appointments and he even buys me my favorite chocolate when I'm on my period. He makes me soup and lays around watching movies with me when I'm so sick that I can't even get out of bed. My mom doesn't see all the good things that he does for me.

Sounds like his mother was between a rock and hard place - glad his father is willing and able to take him in. He also sounds supportive of you and that's important.

My bigger concern is that you seem so young - as does he.

I know you are not asking for advice but please read through the rest of the threads and just don't decide to have a baby right now! Get some education, be able to support yourself. Who knows - maybe you'll be with this guy forever, maybe you won't, but your child deserves two parents and a good life and right now that could be a problem.

I'm glad he treats you well, but moving with him and his father, may cause a lot of problems for ALL of you right now, as your mom can simply report him and his father for harboring a runaway, and have you removed, and them jailed. Do you honestly feel that she will just let you go? I really don't think so. Better to use the time to get yourself in a better position to raise a healthy child, in a good environment, and you both can afford your own place, Having a baby is a life changing event, that can land you both in in jail or worse, if not done right. Bide your time, and do it right for your future child. Your boyfriend cannot support himself, let alone the three of you.
