Well don't know if someone can actually help me with this! But I got to try.

I'm a full time waiter at a restaurant still learning english :), anyway I want to learn about adobe cs3, so I have invested on a custompc here are the specs:

Intel Q6600 2.4 ghz
Asus p5kc motherboard
4 gig ram ddr2 vitesta extreme edition 1066 mhz
Gigabyte 8600 gt 256 dedicated
Sony dvd burner
Standard logitech keyboard
Seagate 250 sata ( I believe)
Logitech cordless mouse
Windows xp oem that the seller provided me
etc.


Here is the problem, after installing windows xp professional and everything (I mean windows update... ), the drivers for the asus p5kc motherboard, and the drivers for the gigabyte 8600gt, my computer is freezing up, crashing, when using the mouse in internet explorer (same thing for Firefox... ), specially when scrolling with the mouse. Windows just freezes up, and then sometimes comes back depends on how long I used the scroll, or eventually windows reboots by itself.
When rebooting we can notice the blue screen of death, but a really quick one
I believe I have all the drivers up to date, I am using DriverAgent.com Fix Your Driver Problems Instantly with DriverAgent for the drivers etc.

Can anyone tell me about this problem?

You sound like you need some sort of anti virus program first off as that sounds like a virus. You can't be surfing the net without any kind of anti virus or you're asking for trouble. You should also look into a registry cleaner as well. Also defrag the hard drive as it probably has a lot of "red" in it as well.

Well to tell you the truth, I actually install everything before trying to open IE 7, or Firefox, I actually make everuthing is up to datebrfore starting going around with the computer.

Here is the process I'm using to install my computer:

(by the way I use a standard keybord with an usb port, and a logitech mouse wireless with the usb adaptor or receiver... )

1/boot the PC with xp pro inside the drive, install xp pro, create partition on C:/ 100 gig and 150 gig.

2/install the asus p5kc drivers and all its utilities (reboot around three time)...

3/install the gigabyte 8600 gt drivers, display drivers and the utilities.

4/open first IE windows, then go straight to tools then windows update, install windows update until the long update, I tnink around 90 updates availlable.

5/then install windows live one care, and do a complete tune up (registry cleaner, defrag, backups etc.)

6/then go to nvidia.com, use the website to download automatically the latest drivers for my graphic card.

( I do all that without scrolling with the mouse, because I know it will happen... the freezing thing)

7/i go to the website called driveragent.com, to download everything else, and then after that I believe I have everything up to date...

So after the installation (3 to 4 hours depends if I'm doing something else,)

I test the PC by opening an IE, then I always want to try my comp abilities by scrolling the windows very fast as if I was looking for information in a long paper... and here the comp freezes, and I start to get crazy because each installation takes forever :)

Anyway, I don't think it is a virus issues since I have tried several installation with Windows Live One Care, and BitDefender V10.

One thing I should let you expert know, when installing the comp, I let plugged in the usb mouse, the usb keyboard, I wonder if this is the problem...

In other word I just hope it is not an hardware issue... because I live in a small village and in a remote part of france, yeah man I'm not killing it takes forever to get something here!!

I actually have a wireless Logitech Keyboard and a wireless Logitech Optic Mouse

Both are USB and I know what you are talking about -- everything is working fine

And then the mouse decides to freezes -- I think it is a software issue -- The CTRL

----ALT ---- DEL does not bring up the Task Manager Computer is frozen!!

Usually end up doing hard boot -- Press power button and kill the beast

Maybe Logitech has an answer -- Still have problem

The computer is in the hands of my seller, and we are working on it but it seems that this a uncommon issue.

And by the way it is the whole system that freezes and the whole system that craches.
Don't want to do hard boot or reset all the time since this comp is for working on adobe cs3.

I'm going to browse around logitech topic for now and see wassup!! *

My power supply is actually on this computer 430 watts. I will have 4 usb devices constantly plugged in,

So do ou guys think this the problem!

If I change the motherboard (asus p5kc) anyone can help me choosing one, like an equivalent! In the same price range!

We actually figured out that the graphic card was defective, change from 8600 gt from gigabyte silent, to leadtek 8600 gt 512 with cooling fan.

This machine is fast !
