My cat is spraying I don't know what to do!
My cat is spraying around the house in no particular areas, just randomly and I don't know how to re-train it?
It was litter trained and has been spayed, it has a brother that dosen't do this.
But I may have to get rid of the cat if I can't sort out this problem :(

    Please Help!!

    Kitties, they're mostly easy care...

Your cat may have decided that the litterbox has too many users. Or, her brother is giving her problems when she approaches the box. But, you said spraying. On the walls? Spraying, and even just pee is usually a sign that a cat is trying to communicate something. If she is going near doors to the outside, she may want to go out. But what to do?

Vinegar, lemon juice and steam are all acidic. They will neutralize cat pee, which is alkaline. I use vinegar because it's cheap. It stinks, but the smell dissipates within a couple of days and the urine odor is gone. You can pour it on carpet too. Just be sure that you blot up the excess.

    Additional boxes may help.

Cats hate peppermint. Peppermint oil in a cup or wiped on a baseboard deters some cats from re-using a certain area.

If you can, isolate the cat to a safe area, like a laundry room with her own box when you are not home to keep an eye on her. Getting rid of her is not going to tell you why she is doing it. She would speak if she could.
