    Retrieving 2006 tax submission
    Hi,

How do I get a copy of my 2006 tax forms and submissions. I basically just want to get a copy of my 2006 tax filings for my records and want to know what the process is. Please advise.

    Thank you,
    Sara

How did you file your 2006 return? If you used a tax preparer, then may be you can have a copy from them. If you used a software, then may be you can still print a copy.

If you want a copy from IRS, it will cost you $39 and it will take about 60 days. Instead you can get transcripts from IRS. It is free.

You can order a transcript by calling 1-800-829-1040, or using Form 4506-T, Request for Transcript of Tax Return. Transcripts have most of the information from your tax return including information from W2, 1099. If you have a fax, then you will get it in a day or else within 10 days.
