Installed lights not working
I am finishing my basement and installed two sets of lights on two different dimmer switches in the same double gang box. One set of lights works fine, but the other set does not work. Funny thing is, when the circuit breaker is on, the lights do not work, but when I measure hot to neutral and hot to ground in each of the light sockets I get 120 volts. This is the case even though the switch is not on. On the switch there are some LEDs that are supposed to light up, but on the set of lights that do not work the LEDs on the switch do not light up. The LEDs in the other switch in that double gang box light up and that switch works correctly. The only thing I can think of is that there may be an open neutral somewhere in the line of the lights that do not work. That would explain why I get 120 volts on neutral to hot and ground to hot because the neutral and ground are bonded at the panel, so even if I had an open neutral there would still be difference in potential. Does anybody have an idea? Thanks!
