    Screeching Maytag ryer
    Hi...
I wondered if someone could offer some insight as to why my Maytag Atlantis dryer(MODEL#MDE7600AYW) is making a horrible high pitched screeching sound... it's VERY LOUD! Thanks... cindyc1910

It's the dryer belt making that noise. If you can't live with the noise, you'll have to either fix it yourself or call a repairman. It won't just go away by itself.

Usually this occurs because the drum support rollers have bad bearings. Either the roller is making the noise or the motor and belt have to work harder to spin the drum resulting in a screeching noise. They will need to be replaced.
