Half of my water flow is coming out the tub spout. I have a Moen 3-handle tub/shower valve (model 82403). I've taken out the diverter assembly but see no evidence of problem. How can I fix this water wasted problem?

Make sure that you have all of the washers (gasket) on the diverter that it should have. I had the same problem, called a local family-owned hardware store, the guy pulled the diverter that I needed and described to me where the washers (gaskets) go, that's how I found out that I was missing one. My shower never worked better! Good Luck!
