When I got my eyebrow pierced it was a lot like that. Clean it morning and night with hydrogen peroxyde. NEVER clean it with alcohol! It drys out the skin and can make it peel. Also when you clean it, put neosporine around the hole and on the ring and twist the ring so that the neosporine can get inside of the hole. Put it on the dead skin too. Don't pick at it. The main thing though is keeping it clean. Take the ring out too and clean it. Its OK to clean the ring with alcohol. You can even clean it with hand sanitizer. Just make sure its dry before you put it back in. :)

If it is not even a month old yet, please do NOT take out the jewelry yet, as suggested above. The piercing is not yet stable enough to handle the jewelry being put in and taken out all of the time. It needs to remain in for 6 weeks before being taken out.

Does the yellow liquid that comes out have a funny smell? Does it come out clear, and DRY yellow? Or is it yellow when it comes out as well? If it comes out clear and dries yellow, it is just white blood cells trying to patch up the hole and is normal. If it has a funny smell, you need to see a doctor for some antibiotics.

What are you cleaning the piercing with? The dead skin can be caused by overcleaning and overusing salt water. Do not use hydrogen peroxide as it is very irritating to your skin. Use antibacterial soap.

Signs of infection are severe redness, severe swelling, and a yellow or greenish discharge that smells bad. If you have any of those, see a doc. Good luck! :)

From my own experience: mine did that too, and not for only a month but for the next 8-10 months (no joke). The yellow liquid came out continuously, sometimes getting worse and making it hurt even more. It takes about a year for the piercing to really heal and getting it "infected" over and over again is no surprise. Do not use rubbing alcohol and don't take out the jewelry. Make sure to squeeze out and clean any yellowy or watery secretions all the way around on both sides. This is easily done using a Q-tip. Salt solution works best, you don't even need to buy the expensive sprays, just make some at home. Lie down on your back and fill the belly button with the salt solution, move the jewelry back and forth, wait a bit, then use a clean towel to dry it on the outside. Then take a Q-tip and clean any left secretions. Repeat if necessary. Also, always clean the skin all the way around your belly, this will really help to prevent bad infections. It took almost exactly a year before mine completely healed (even though I've lost hope it ever will along the way) and now I don't need to do any maintenance or cleaning, regular showering with soap does the trick, no problems and no infections ever since. Good luck!
